Tzedekah Collective

The RiSe Up! Tzedakah Collective awards micro-grants to community, agency, and faith-based organizations serving our nearby neighborhoods. We prioritize children, literacy and the homeless and look for small organizations that are normally under the radar. By coming together to propose, learn about, discuss and support various causes, we build relationships with various organizations and strengthen our community. We build our budget from collected Social Action fees and last year awarded approximately $5,000 to various causes ranging from Hannah House, a residential facility for women just released from prison, to the Maternity Care Coalition, which supports the children of garment workers in Chinatown.

If you are interested in participating in the Tzedakah Collective or proposing recipient organizations, please contact Stuart Schmidt at Schmidt@temple.edu or at his office 215-204-1621 for additional information.
