Rabbi Tamir Nir is the spiritual leader of Kehilat Achva Bakarem, a member congregation within the Israel Movement for Reform and Progressive Judaism. He also serves as the director of the Secular Yeshiva in Tel Aviv and BINA – The Jewish Movement for Social Change, as well as the chairman of the Heschel Center. The immediate past deputy mayor of Jerusalem in charge of the transportation, environmental, and conservation portfolios, Rabbi Nir holds a degree in architecture and urban planning from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. He lives in the Beit Hakerem neighborhood of Jerusalem with his wife and three children. Click here to learn more about Achva Bakarem.
