Adult B’nai Mitzvah

If you never became a B’nai Mitzvah, here’s your chance to participate in group study and join our Adult B’nai Mitzvah class. Students will lead a Saturday morning Shabbat service. Contact Sophia Schwab (clergyoffice@rodephshalom.org). You must be a Rodeph Shalom member to register.

Days of Learning

Congregants teach and learn from each other, with a focus on Jewish or secular topics through a Jewish lens. Chaired by Ellen Poster (ellenajme@aol.com) and Marc Lowenstein (lowenstm@comcast.net).

Introduction to Judaism

If you are an interfaith couple, considering converting to Judaism, or Jewish and looking for beginner’s education, Introduction to Judaism is perfect for you. Taught by RS clergy, this course provides a foundation of the Jewish faith, culture, people and history, from a Reform perspective. Topics include Shabbat, The Life Cycle: Birth, B’nai Mitzvah, Conversion, Wedding, Death, Mourning, Afterlife, Jewish Holidays, Jewish History, Prayers & Blessings, and more. Jewish Meditation

Prepare for Shabbat by opening our hearts and minds to the Divine. Our meditation includes text study, music, art, yoga, and prayer in a small supportive small-group environment. Chaired by Betsy Ostrow (baopeds@aol.com) and Ellen Poster (ellenajme@aol.com).

Taste of Judaism

Designed for those who would like to learn about the foundations of Judaism or for those who may be searching for an entryway into Jewish life, this course explores Jewish perspectives on spirituality, values, and community. Torah Queeries

Facilitated by an LGBTQ rabbi and/or rabbinical student, all are welcome to join and build community while looking at the Torah through a rainbow lens. No prior knowledge of Torah or Hebrew necessary. Contact Heshie Zinman (hjzinman@gmail.com).

Torah Study

Held weekly on Shabbat morning from 9:15-10:30 a.m., this is the cornerstone of our learning. We discuss the weekly Torah portions and have a lively conversation as we relate this ancient text to our daily lives. No previous Torah study or knowledge of Hebrew needed.

Young Friends Torah Study
