Our Mercaz Limud ("Learning Center") engages students from Pre-K through 12th grade in living a Jewish life of meaning informed by deep understanding and enriched by friendship. This year, renovated spaces for pre-teens and new curriculum on Israel, Jewish history, and teen learning enhance the Berkman Mercaz Limud experience.

RSTY (Rodeph Shalom Temple Youth)

Youth groups foster life-long Jewish friendships and community for all ages. RSTY for children in grades Pre-K through 5th grade are led by Youth Engagement Coordinator Stacie Graff.  See below for two new programs.


Tzedek Seekers —New this year

Sundays, November 24, December 15, January 5, January 19 from 12:30-3:00pm; Friday, February 14 from 4:00-8:00pm
A new social justice cohort for 6th-7th-8thgraders focused on activism and Jewish connections. Tzedek is the Hebrew word for justice. This cohort will be dedicated to seeking justice in all segments of society. Participants will also deepen relationships and make new connections with RS friends. Participants will help plan and implement Berkman Mercaz Limud's MLK Day of Service on Sunday January 19, 2020 and engage in additional social justice projects. Cost: $90 for the year. Leadership Lab —New this year

A new cohort-based leadership development program for teens in 9th-12thgrades. Learn core leadership competencies such as communication, collaboration, and critical thinking, as well as deepen relationships and make new connections with RS friends. Cost: $118 for the year. Apply online at


NFTY-PAR (National Federation of Temple Youth - Pennsylvania Area Region)

NFTY, the Reform Jewish youth group movement, provides an extraordinary opportunity for teens to pursuetikkun olam, deep connections, personal growth, and leadership skills with Jewish teens from across Pennsylvania, Delaware, and South Jersey. Weekend retreats, held four times a year, create unique experiences that become treasured memories.
