RS comes together to design and make a unique and dynamic work of art with congregant and artist, Fred Kogan

Sunday, March 12, 2017 - 9:30am

Everyone will start out in the sanctuary at 9:30 to listen to the clergy read the Megillah (scroll of Esther) and explain the story within.  Please feel free to bring little brothers and sisters to this service. It is the custom to be very loud and silly, and it always features a creative reenactment of the Purim story starring the clergy (and I usually get to participate too!).  When we hear Haman’s name, we boo and shake our groggers. Some people prefer traditional groggers, and others enjoy shaking the boxes of pasta that we ask our participants to bring and donate.  After Purim, we always end up with an enormous amount of pasta to bring to a local food bank!
After the service, everyone heads downstairs for our fantastic annual Purim carnival.

Saturday, March 18, 2017 - 9:30am

Tot Shabbat is a time for babies, tots and preschoolers and their families to gather for singing, dancing and storytelling. The "service" is led by our rabbis and cantor and is followed by an animal cracker and challah oneg.

Help us connect with every member household
Join the ConnectRS team and help us do a mitzvah!  We're looking for congregants to give us an hour or two of time (or as long as you can), to bring your cell phone and make phone calls to current RS members. We call every member household to wish them a Happy Passover on behalf of RS and check in. No soliciting - no big commitment - just friends, fun and food (lunch will be provided).  Many ConnectRS have come back each year to help us make calls because it feels good to connect with other members and do this important outreach work on behalf of RS.
Co-chaired by Linda Karp Rudow & Cheryl Dougherty. With special thanks to Mary Ellen Schneider for all her help.
RSVP: Catherine Fischer ([email protected], 215-627-6747 x246)
