RS Women Spring Presentation: A Passover Workshop

All adults are invited to join in this Passover Workshop at RS. Visit multiple stations focusing on Passover rites and traditions, the Passover meal, Haggadot, and how best to engage children at the seder.

Food Fabulous Food: The Passover Feast (Ruth Yaskin) – Your meal can be a feast of traditional dishes or a mosaic of foods from other countries and cultures. Come explore the options!

A Congregant's Journey to Aliyah with Caroline Goldberg Igra, author of Count to a Thousand

Caroline Goldberg Igra will discuss her book, Count to a Thousand, a poignant novel about an American expatriate whose insular life in Israel is shattered by unanticipated events. International Women's Day March with RS Women

Join RS Women for the International Women’s Day March

Saturday, January 20, 2018   10:30am – 3:00pm

The mission of the Women’s March is to harness the political power of diverse women and their communities to create transformative social change.
Rabbi Maderer will speak at the March.

                        10:15 – gather in front of TGI Fridays – 1776 Benjamin Franklin Parkway

                        10:30 – proceed to Aviator Park/Logan Square

                        11:00 – marching from Logan Square to Eakins Oval

MLK Day Organize & Pack Donations

In honor of MLK Day, help organize and package donations for Our Closet – Powered by Jewish Family Children Services.

Collection Times: late November – MLK Day. Keep an eye out for the collection bin when entering the building.

What to Donate: new underwear & new SPORT bras, tampons, sanitary napkins, razors, shampoo & conditioner, body wash, shaving cream, and moisturizer.

Who Makes the Latkes in your House?

Has it always been Bubbie…or your mother?

Join RS Women for a latke-making demonstration and learn how to carry on the totally fun and important ritual of preparing latkes for Chanukah.  Open to all.

Trip to the U.S. Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC

Join Men of RS and RS Women as they host a trip to the U.S. Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. All members, prospective members and their friends are welcome to join us. 10 seats left!


The bus will depart the synagogue parking lot promptly at 8:30am
The bus will leave Washington, DC by 5:00pm to arrive at RS by 8:00pm

PLAN FOR THE DAY:
Depart RS by 8:30am
Lunch at the US Holocaust Museum 11:30am
Museum visit 12:30 to 4:45pm
Depart Museum parking lot at 5:00pm
Arrive at RS by 8:00pm

Beer Brewing

Come join fellow congregants and members of various connection groups to make RS beer that will be ready for Sukkot! We'll be in the RS kitchen, if you're interested in how to brew but don't know where to start, have limited experience, or you yourself are a master brewer, stop by for a few minutes or stay the entire time. All of the equipment and ingredients will be taken care of. All you need to do is bring a willingness to learn, lend a helping hand, and have engaging conversation. Cheers!
