Please join us for the next meeting of the RS Jewish Cookbook Club featuring SOUP. We all know chicken soup of course, but the possibilities are endless. Why not try Krupnik (a mushroom and barley soup), Schav Borscht (a sour green borscht), Marag ( a chicken soup from India), or Avicas (a Sephardic bean and beef soup from Thessaloniki)? The possibilities are endless. Remember, too, that Jewish soups are often served with Knaidlach (Matzoh balls), Kreplach (stuffed dumplings) or special breads.
Find a recipe, cook it up, and show us what you made during our zoom chat! A simple google search will turn up dozens of recipes. As always the Jewish Food Society’s website has many interesting options. Gil Marks’ book The World of Jewish Cooking and Claudia Roden’s The Book of Jewish Food are both excellent resources. We look forward to virtually sharing soup with you!
