SUMMARY:ReadRS: Long Island Compromise by Taffy Brodesser-Akin
DESCRIPTION:Called “the Great American Reform Jewish Novel” by one critic\, Long Island Compromise tells the story of three generations of a prosperous family in the aftermath of a traumatic kidnapping. “A dybbuk is in the works” members of the Fletcher family are wont to remark when things go awry. As another critic observed\, the dybbuk really hits the fan in this witty\, unsettling gem of a novel. Read it to find out why it was chosen for more than a dozen best novels of 2024 lists. Then come talk about it with us. \nRegister here.  Contact Howard Green at greenhl@gmail.com. \nFor more from Brodesser-Akner\, take a look at her recent article in the NY TImes Magazine about a Holocaust survivor.
