DESCRIPTION:In honor of National Coming Out Week\, hear a panel conversation with trans and gender expansive members of our RS Jewish community (Mon Kramer\, Noah Duckett\, Link Shuster\, and Sophia Shapira) exploring how we navigate barriers\, find resilience and joy\, and reflect on living authentically. \nCompelled by these stories and the aim to support trans safety and belonging\, our guest photojournalist Adam Mastoon will offer an opportunity for trans young adults to participate in his trans/formation book project. \nRegister to attend here. \nThe project’s purpose is to honor these beautiful young people and to amplify their experiences with authenticity in an exciting multimedia book. When his grandson Avi begins to ask questions\, they realize that there is more to the story. The pair set out on a journey to explore the mystery of David’s past\, traveling to his hometown in Poland and to Auschwitz. On the journey\, David reveals his long-held secret – a lost love from Auschwitz and the importance of their relationship. More than seventy years later\, the two are reunited in a breathtaking testament to the power of music\, art\, and love.
