DESCRIPTION:The last book by the last great Yiddish writer of the 20th century. It was published serially in Yiddish newspapers in New York in the 1960s. The manuscript was thought lost until it was recently discovered among Grade’s widow’s papers by YIVO (The Institute for Jewish Research)\, which saw to its translation and publication. Called both “melancholy” and “hilarious” by the New York Times\, it provides a moving depiction of the world that the Holocaust eviscerated. BBoB partners with a variety of Philadelphia non-profits and our own RS members to obtain and distribute these necessary items. We fulfill our RS mission to create profound connections within our RS community as we join together in this sacred work of tikkun olam and within our neighborhood through our partnerships with other organizations and our relationships with the families we serve.
