2016 Hazon Philadelphia Jewish Food Festival - Waste Not, Want Not: Exploring Our Food Choices
Sponsored by Congregation Rodeph Shalom!
Hazon Philadelphia’s 4th Annual Jewish Food Festival targets the timely and important topic of Baal Tashchit, or minimizing food waste. The festival will be full of interactive cooking and gardening workshops, lectures and panels, skill-building, and, of course, eating!
The day includes a Keynote Conversation with the illustrious Leah Koenig, author of “Modern Jewish Cooking” and Liz Alpern, co-owner of Gefilteria, which will be held after lunchtime, kicking off an afternoon filled with over twenty choices of workshops.
The vibrant Community Market, filled with educational & entrepreneurial vendors, will offer delicious foods from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and will feature a pop-up book shop hosted by the Reading Terminal Market’s Cookbook Stall.
The Festival will close with a lively klezmer dance party led by the West Philly Orchestra.
