Please join us in honoring and celebrating all of our 44 Presidents; the women and men who have been stewards of and helped lead our beloved congregation for the last 224 years. Celebration Events

Celebrating Our Presidents: Rodeph Shalom and the Legacy of Leadership
Sunday, November 3 from 5:00-9:00pm
The year’s events will kick-off with a special presentation about our presidents followed by a reception.
5:00pm: Special presentation about our past presidents
6:00pm: Reception, music, and supper (party attire)

Choose one of three ways to participate on November 3:
 I. Individual Tickets: $125 per ticket; $75 Young Friend (ages 21-35) per ticket
 II. November 3 Patron opportunities with special recognition:

Home (Less) Exhibit & Annual Latke/Vodka Event at the Philadelphia Museum of Jewish Art
Thursday, December 5 at 6:00pm
This group exhibition from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion Museum explores the concept of home and homelessness that has become a grave situation in our city, our country and our world. The Annual Latke/Vodka party benefits the Philadelphia Museum of Jewish Art.

“Getting to The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: A Walk Through Jewish Television” with David Bianculli & Dr. Melissa Klapper
Wednesday, March 18 at 7:00pm; Patron reception at 5:30pm
David Bianculli is known as the  television critic for NPR’s radio show and Dr. Melissa Klapper is an American and Women’s History professor at Rowan University. Sponsored by the Alfred and Helen O. Sellers Fund.

Discussion with Michael Solomonov
Tuesday, May 5 at 7:00pm; Patron reception at 5:30pm
Michael Solomonov, world renowned chef and restaurateur, will discuss his personal struggle with addiction. Proceeds will go towards the Caring Community. Sponsored by the Lulu & Joseph Rosenbluth Fund.

“American Values, Religious Voices" with a multi-faith religious panel

This book, by Rabbi Andrea L.Weiss and Lisa Weinberger, is a collection of letters and essays from a wide range of scholars following the 2016 presidential election and during the first 100 days of the Trump presidency. Hear from a multi-faith panel on their views of this diverse and empowering novel. Sponsored by the Behrend Lecture Fund.

Congregation Rodeph Shalom is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization. In accordance with IRS guidelines, the fair market value for attendance at the 2019 Celebrating Our Presidents events has been set at $365 per person for yearlong patrons. Any amount contributed above that value is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. This document is necessary for any available federal income tax deduction for your contribution please consult your tax advisor.
