Below is the “Bring Your Lamp” wish list. It offers you ways to impact directly the specific programs and the areas of the congregation you are interested in supporting.

 

Shabbat

 

Support Ani Kinor: $1,750
Description: The RS Orchestra takes its name from the Israeli songwriting giant Naomi Shemer’s song “Yerushalayim Shel Zahav” Jerusalem of Gold. The final line of this song’s chorus is "L’chol shirayich Ani Kinor", for all of your songs, I am a stringed instrument. The strings and the whole ensemble give voice to our prayers in a contemporary during Shabbat services.

Impact:  Your donation will sponsor Ani Kinor enhancing one Friday night Shabbat Service.

Recognition:  Your gift will be recognized in special invitation gatherings for major supporters of Ani Kinor as well as in the Bulletin and Shabbat program.

Friday night Oneg: $250
Description: Sponsoring the Shabbat Oneg is a wonderful way to honor a loved one or to celebrate a life-cycle event with your Rodeph Shalom family.

Impact:  Your donation will sponsor one Friday night oneg before Shabbat evening services. 

Recognition:  Your gift will be recognized in the Bulletin and in the Shabbat program.

Challah for Shabbat: $100
Description: Sponsor challah during the Shabbat Oneg and service.
 
Impact:  Your donation will pay for 12 challot during Friday night and Saturday morning Shabbat services and oneg.

Recognition: Your gift will be recognized in the Bulletin and in the Shabbat program.

Families with Young Children Oneg: $175
Description: Sponsoring this oneg makes it possible for our youngest members (0-5 years and their siblings) and their parents to strengthen their connection to Rodeph Shalom, Judaism, and each other by celebrating Shabbat and the end of the school week together.   

Impact:  Your donation will sponsor pizza and challah for RS members, prospective members, and Buerger Early Learning Center families.

Recognition:  Your gift will be recognized in the Bulletin and in the Shabbat program.

Congregational Shabbat Dinners: $25/person
Description: Sponsor a person (or family) to attend a Congregational Shabbat dinners, while strenghtening connections to Rodeph Shalom and within our congregational family.

Impact:  Your donation will give people the opportunity to attend a Shabbat dinner who many not be able to afford to attend, while also giving them the chance to join their Rodeph Shalom family for Shabbat dinner.

Caring Community & Social Justice

Mitzvah Meals: $175
Description: Provides meals and community connection to members who can't get to RS easily due to health, recent birth, or mourning a loss.  

Impact:  Sponsors one month of Mitzvah Meals which makes roughly 30 meals.

Recognition: Your gift will be recognized in the Bulletin and by Caring Community.

Description: Various kitchen items needed to make Mitzvah Meals

Impact: Providing these kitchen items ensures members have what they need to make Mitzvah Meals

Hunger ReSponse: $200
Description: Meals go to our neighbors down the street at Bethesda North Broad (722 N. Broad St).

Impact: Provides supplies for one month of cooking for Hunger Response which makes roughly 50 meals made by RS congregants
