Congregational Choirs

Our Congregational Choirs help the congregation to lift its voice in prayer.

For those who love to sing Jewish music and add their own beauty to services, the Congregational Choir enriches the Contemporary High Holy Day services and Shabbat services throughout the year. Congregants of all ages and musicians of all levels are welcome to participate.

Youth Choir

Open to first graders through seventh graders, the Youth Choir rehearses immediately following Mercaz Limud on select Sundays from 12:30-1:30pm. The Youth Choir sings at Shabbat services, at the Contemporary High Holy Day morning services, and at special events throughout the year.

Ani Kinor: The RS Orchestra

Ani Kinor: the RS Orchestra is Rodeph Shalom's mini-orchestra and a feature of select Friday evening Shabbat Services during the year. "Ani Kinor" is a Hebrew phrase, taken from the beloved Naomi Shemer’s song “Yerushalayim Shel Zahav,” meaning "I am a stringed instrument.” The strings of Ani Kinor help our prayers, joy and musical expression soar. Come hear and experience the power of strings and feel how each of us can be a "stringed instrument" in worship.

RAK ‘N KOL (A Cappella at RS)

This harmonious group of adults love to bring music of all styles with a rockin’ twist to special events at RS. Rak in Hebrew means “only” and Kol in Hebrew means “voices”. So, this group literally uses “only voices” to create the magic. Rehearsals take place at 11:15AM on Sundays.
