Environmental Sustainability & Food Waste Reduction Program
Join the RS Sustainability Task Force and the Drexel Food Lab to learn about an easy climate solution that starts in your own kitchen. Reducing the food we waste cuts the methane released when food rots in landfills, and it saves money on groceries too! During this program we will share:
- Why it matters: how food waste contributes to very powerful greenhouse gas emissions
- Waste less, save more: practical tips from Drexel Food Lab on planning, shopping, food safety, and storage
- What’s left over: how composting handles the waste we can’t avoid
- Hands-on in the kitchen: a fun activity making something delicious
Everyone is welcome, whether you cook for a crowd, cook for one, or just love food from the season. You’ll leave with ideas you can use right away!
