On this Yom Hashoah during the Omer Counting, we remember Elie Weisel’s words:

“There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.”  On our journey from Pesach’s freedom to Shavuot’s purpose, we count the Omer together:

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ מֶֽלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, אֲשֶׁר קִדְּשָֽׁנוּ בְּמִצְוֹתָיו, וְצִוָּֽנוּ עַל סְפִירַת הָעֹֽמֶר.

Baruch atah Adonai Eloheinu melech ha-olam asher kid’shanu b’mitzvotav vitzivanu al s’firat ha-omer.

Blessed are You, Adonai our God, Ruler of the universe, who sanctifies us with mitzvot, and commands us concerning the counting of the Omer.

Tonight begins the 12th day, which is 1 week and 5 days, of the Omer.

Join us for our counting of the Omer, in person and on social media, throughout the journey from Pesach’s freedom to Shavuot’s purpose.  Submit a favorite Jewish text for our daily intention to clergyoffice@rodephshalom.org.
