B'rit Milah

B’rit milah (convenant of circumcision), also known as a bris, is a religious ritual in which male babies are formally welcomed into the Jewish people on the 8thday of life.  A mohel performs the circumcision at the b’rit milah ceremony, which also includes prayers to welcome the child into the Jewish people, the formal announcing of the child’s Jewish or Hebrew name, and additional blessings. B’rit Bat
B'rit Bat is a ceremony in which daughters are welcomed into the covenant. The ceremony can be held during a Shabbat service in the sanctuary, at the family’s home, or in one of our many event spaces at Rodeph Shalom, with a Kiddush luncheon following.
