Cook & Connect Part One: Koshersoul with Michael W. Twitty:
Sunday, January 10 from 6:30-8:00pm
Join James Beard award-winning culinary historian and Judaic teacher Michael W. Twitty on an exploration of the intersections of his identity as an African American and as an American Jew. Twitty shares the way he uses the table to navigate complicated issues and contemporary challenges of racial inequity and intersectional identity. His cookbook, The Cooking Gene, explores the perspective on our most divisive cultural issue, race, in this memoir of Southern cuisine and food culture that traces his ancestry—both black and white—through food, from Africa to America and slavery to freedom.
