Federalist Papers Study Group – The Filibuster
Tuesday, June 29 at 7:00 PM over Zoom

Join LawyeRS as we host our member, Reid Willis, Esquire, who will discuss the timely topic of the origins and evolution of the filibuster, starting with a seemingly harmless mistake made in 1805 and evolving into the hijacking of the Senate by a lawless super-minority.

We will start with a discussion of the history of the filibuster, the roots in the relevant Federalist Papers, and its controversial use today as it continues to shape the outcome of legislation — especially with respect to voting rights.

We will then open it up for general discussion and questions. This session is open to the entire community. Contact Leonard Goldberger for questions.
