The Book of Ruth, one of the most popular stories in Tanakh (the Hebrew Bible), is celebrated in Jewish tradition for its strong narrative and welcoming message, just as it will be celebrated during the upcoming Shavuot holiday. Its subtext within the tradition is often overlooked. Explore the unique language and commentary of the Book of Ruth and its relevance to Jewish-American narratives. No knowledge of Hebrew or the Book of Ruth is necessary.
