Rebuilt from Broken Glass – Film Screening and Discussion

November 10 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Fred Behrend witnessed the flames of Kristallnacht in 1938 at age 12, seeing synagogues set on fire, and was soon fleeing Nazi tyranny. As a GI several years later, he achieved his own victory over the Nazis, teaching democracy to German POWs. Yet at age 92, he discovered one last triumph still awaited—a miracle 80 years in the making. After the film, hear Fred Behrend, along with the film’s director, Larry Hanover, discuss Rebuilt from Broken Glass, and the impact Kristallnacht had upon Fred’s life. See the film trailer here.
