Do you want to become part of the new Rodeph Shalom Torah Crew? Join Soferet Rabbi Bec Richman for a deep dive into beginner’s Torah maintenance and repair. We will learn how to properly lift, roll, and dress the scroll, as well as how to clean, sew seams, and patch tears. Together, we will learn skills to maintain and care for our own Torah scrolls for years to come.

This half-day workshop will include a brief overview of the rules that govern Torah production and repair, a hands-on exploration of some of the Rodeph Shalom Torah scrolls, a participatory Torah repair on at least one of our scrolls, participatory workshops on sewing, patching, and cleaning, and visioning for the new Rodeph Shalom Torah Crew.
